Please pick up empty containers from potlucks etc. in the kitchen. These items will be taken to MCC Thrift in a few weeks.
Worship Committee is looking for people who have interest in creating visuals for a worship service on occasion. Please speak with Lynnette Hammer, Joy Wagler, Michelle Wagler, Nancy Steinmann Yantzi, or Pastor Louise to add your name to the list.
Compassionate Care Committee (Sara Roth and Janessa Otto) invite a few more names for the list of persons to contact to provide items for funeral visitation meals for families. Thanks.
Last June, we began a trial period of wearing name tags on Sunday mornings. This practice has proven helpful so we have decided to make name tag use a part of our congregational life. Thanks for living into this new practice of hospitality.~Worship & Care Team
Joys & Concerns
Thank you to our church family for your acts of care, prayers and support in the past three weeks since David’s cardiac arrest and hospitalization. We are grateful for your cards, emails, visits and well-wishes. ~David and Susan Seyler
Happy Birthday to Dianne Gruhl, turning 81 on October 8.
Let us continue to remember Sharon Leis who remains hospitalized at St. Mary’s for testing.
Remember Terry Tweedle, who is quarantined at home with a lung infection. Pray for Elaine as she cares for Terry.
Pray for Janet and Stu Day as Janet lives through a covid diagnosis.
Community Events
Empty Bowls for Haiti: Saturday, October 18, 5 pm and 7 pm, at Steinmann MC. Local potters donate hand-crafted bowls and local restaurants provide a wide variety of delicious soups. Funds raised strengthen communities in Haiti via MCC. Tickets are $35 each. Go to mcc.org/events to buy your tickets.
November 19: Join a five week peer support group where we will create a sacred space to explore our mental health journey where scripture is used to ground us. The location and time may change depending on interest of people. Email melodysteinman@gmail.com
