If you haven’t been to a church before or for a long time, showing up can feel a bit overwhelming. So here’s what you can anticipate.
Weekdays. If you stop in during the week, use the east entrance marked “Main Entrance” which is in the middle of the facility. Church offices are immediately to the left.
Sundays. For Sunday worship at 9:45 a.m., park in any parking area (There reserved parking for accessibility). Enter any door. You will see places to hang a coat. Someone will greet you and point you in the right direction and answer any questions. An usher will offer you a bulletin that contains a worship outline and weekly announcements. If you wish, he/she will help you find a seat. Feel free to ask any questions. Chat with others or remain anonymous, your choice. You’ll see people dressed in T shirts and blue jeans to dresses, jackets and an occasional tie.
A worship service is usually just over an hour in length. It includes a children’s time for young children. There is also a screened volunteer staffed nursery for infants and toddlers.
You won’t be put on the spot. Any standing or spoken responses from the congregation are announced. Following the worship service there is a coffee time in the gym where you can meet and talk with people as you wish. From September to mid-June there are children’s youth and adult education classes following worship.
We hope you will participate and feel welcome because Jesus welcomes all kinds of people at different points on the journey of faith and invites imperfect people to follow him and love others as he does. If you have questions please call the church office. The Administrative Assistant or a Pastor will be glad to respond.
