11:15 a.m.. – Adult Christian Ed.: resumes in the south side of the auditorium. Join us as we study the minor prophets. We will view a video on Obadiah and explore how Obadiah’s message speaks to us today. Please meet promptly.

3 – 7 p.m. Sunday S’mores! Everyone is invited to Bruce and Barb Schumm’s home, 1265 Waterloo St., New Hamburg, to enjoy swimming, sitting around the fire, and catching up with others at the end of the summer. The Care Team will make the s’mores; bring your own hot dogs to roast and snacks to share. Bring lawn chairs & tableware.

Oct. 6 (Sun.) 10-3:30 a.m. Make a Difference Day At Hidden Acres. A day of worship and activities and pizza with other MCEC Jr. Youth. Please bring running shoes for the climbing wall. Cost $15. Forest Church is coming to Wilmot Township! Forest Church is a casual, reflective, outdoor worship opportunity to connect with God in natural settings. We will be gathering once a month in various locations in Wilmot Township. The inaugural worship service for Wilmot Forest Church is Sunday, September 22 at 1:30 pm. Oct 5 (Sat.) 8:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Enneagram Workshop. The Enneagram is a tool to help us increase our self-awareness. It articulates 9 different journeys of the soul; how we experience disconnection from God and our deepest self, and how we might participate in God’s work of calling us home. Oct 5 – Ride for Refuge, a family-friendly cycling and walking fundraiser that supports charities who provide refuge and hope for displaced people. October 20 (Sun.) 6:30-9:30pm Adult Bible Quizzing at The Jazz Room in Waterloo! Start studying Genesis 1-30. This is a fundraiser for PiE – pastors in Exile. Gord Alton, pastor at Mannheim Mennonite Church, is taking the second level of training in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT), a well researched and effective approach to help couples work at issues in their relationship. Gord is looking for one or two couples who would be willing to meet with him at no cost in counselling sessions so he can practice and develop his skills in EFT. Scott Brubaker-Zehr (pastor of Rockway Mennonite Church, Kitchener) is taking training in spiritual direction through Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary. As part of this program, he is looking for 3-4 people with whom he can meet at no charge to offer spiritual companionship and guidance. If you are interested, contact Scott at pastor@ rockwaymc.ca.

Serenades for Sam is an initiative to bring the benefits of John Wiebe’s music to people experiencing brain injuries. John Wiebe plays one day a week for stroke survivors at Freeport hospital. Please speak to Lynn Yantzi if you wish to contribute: 519-662-2580.

Wilmot Family Resource Centre (WFRC) Foodbank currently needs: School Snacks – 100% juice boxes, granola bars, applesauce, fruit cups, peanut butter, canned fruits & vegetables, pasta sauce & canned tomatoes and cereal.

Breakfast Club at Forest Glen P.S.: Thank you to everyone who has volunteered. We are seeking volunteers who will be able to assist this fall with meal preparation and service and clean-up on Wednesday mornings. Please contact Paulette, Kathy or Dianne Satchell if you are available.
