Oct 6 (Sun.) 10-3:30 a.m. Make a Difference Day At Hidden Acres. A day of worship and activities and pizza with other MCEC Jr. Youth. Please bring running shoes for the climbing wall. Cost $15. Meet at church 9:30 a.m. Need to pre-register, please let Pastor Sara know by September 15th if you’re interested.


Sept. 8 (Sun.) 3 – 7 p.m. Sunday S’mores! Everyone is invited to Bruce and Barb Schumm’s home, 1265 Waterloo St., New Hamburg, to enjoy swimming, sitting around the fire, and catching up with others at the end of the summer. The Care Team will make the s’mores; bring your own hot dogs to roast and snacks to share. Bring lawn chairs & tableware.

Sept. 20 (Fri.) 10 – 2 p.m. Aldaview Services, 40th Anniversary Celebration at Connections, 332 Hamilton Rd. Come and join in the games and crafts, bake sale, live music and much more.

Menno Youth Singers is accepting new singers. The season begins Tuesday, September 10th at Erb Street Mennonite Church. If you are between 14 – 30 and like to sing, this is the place for you! See for registration and other info.

Sept. 23-27 Parenting Forward: An online parenting Conference. Exploring ways to explore faith in today’s world with your kids. Themes include: children and justice, gentle parenting, and children and spirituality. For more information or to register, go to

Sept. 29 (Sun.) – Hymn sing, potluck, and pie auction to raise funds for the new hymnal, Voices Together, coming in 2020.

Oct 5 (Sat.) 8:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Enneagram Workshop. The Enneagram is a tool to help us increase our self-awareness. It articulates 9 different journeys of the soul; how we experience disconnection from God and our deepest self, and how we might participate in God’s work of calling us home. October 20 (Sun.) 6:30-9:30pm Adult Bible Quizzing at The Jazz Room in Waterloo! Start studying Genesis 1-30. This is a fundraiser for PiE – pastors in Exile. Interested in quizzing? – talk to Pastor Sara. Spectators welcome and asked to make a $10 donation. To donate go to


Serenades for Sam is an initiative to bring the benefits of John Wiebe’s music to people experiencing brain injuries. John Wiebe plays one day a week for stroke survivors at Freeport hospital. First Hmong Mennonite Church spring roll fundraiser. Sign-up sheet on the table by the mailboxes. If you order egg rolls you are responsible for picking them up. Deadline for orders is noon on Friday, Sept. 6th.

Breakfast Club: Thank you to everyone who has volunteered. We are seeking volunteers who will be able to assist this fall with meal preparation and service and clean-up on Wednesday mornings. Please contact Paulette, Kathy or Dianne Satchell if you are available.
