Fall 2022 Worship Series

A God Who Can be Trusted  – The Book of Exodus
September 11th—November 6th

As we explore the book of Exodus, we are invited to pay attention to the character of God and the many ways God continues to be revealed as trustworthy. We will join the Israelites as they find their way in their new (and often distressing) reality. We will encounter Moses, along with other characters such as Pharaoh Jethro, Miriam, and Aaron, who offer us glimpses into complicated  situations and God’s continual presence, patience, and guidance.

You’re invited to read along !

Dates Exodus Ch. Topics/Theme Preacher
Oct 9 13:17-17:16 The Escape & Provisions in the Desert (Thanksgiving) Pastor Louise
Oct 16 18 Sharing Leadership—Jethro’s Advice Pastor Sara
Oct 23 19-31 Sinai and the Commandments Pastor Louise
Oct 30 32-35:3 The Golden Calf Pastor Steve
Nov 6 35:4-40:38 The Tabernacle & Holy Space Pastor Louise

You will receive a paper cut out from an usher as you enter the sanctuary.  During the service, you are invited to think of an encounter with God; an experience of God’s trustworthiness.  Write a word or phrase on the cut out to describe that experience.  Place the cut outs in the basket on the stool at the top of the stairs as you leave worship.  These cut outs will be used to create our own burning bush – a reminder of God with us.
