Our May “Special Missions Project” (formerly coin offering/online offering) is Meserete Kristos College in Ethiopia.  Our goal is to provide $1,750 for their new kitchen and multipurpose hall and a $3,250 scholarship for one student. Many students sacrifice much to train as new leaders of new congregations in very low income areas. Please donate directly to MC Canada: https://www.mennonitechurch.ca/ethiopia. Designate your gift under “Add a Message.”

At this time we continue with very limited hybrid worship services, making space for up to 6 people to attend in-person in addition to those leading worship/livestream. To attend, please contact the church ahead of time to ensure that we remain within the 10-person limit.

If you are looking for a way to be connected and enjoy seeing things grow, our SMC Giving Garden is just the place for you! The SMC Giving Garden has been growing and harvesting food for the past 4 years and has been donating the produce and its proceeds from sales to the Wilmot Resource Center.  A great way to give back to our community.

We are in need of volunteers (all ages) to help with the following things:

  1. preparing the beds for planting
  2. design and layout
  3. planting seeds and seedlings
  4. watering/weeding
  5. harvesting

If you are unable to participate in person, perhaps you can donate something to add to our ever growing garden beds.  We are looking for the following (but not limited to).

  1. garden tools
  2. extra seedlings (any plant or flower)
  3. garden stones or concrete
  4. bird baths
  5. gardening gloves

If you are interested in getting involved or have anything to donate to this years SMC garden, please contact myself, Elaine Finnie at

froesee@gmail.com or Paulette West  paulettewest@rogers.com
