Continue or join our memory challenge: 1 John 4:7-12. This week’s focus verse is bolded:
Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love. God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be a sacrifice for our sins. Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us.
February’s Special Offering (formerly the Coin Offering) is for the House of Friendship’s annual Potato Blitz. For the past 20 years Gord Roth co-ordinated many volunteers and pick-up trucks to drive throughout the KW area to pick up 1000’s of pounds of spuds – Thank you Gord! This year, instead of gathering 68,000 pounds of potatoes and $24,000.00, The House of Friendship has a goal of raising $45,000 to meet their projected needs in the community. You can donate to this much needed initiative in February by going to the link provided. In the ‘Designation’ section choose Potato Blitz.

After careful consideration the New Hamburg Mennonite Relief Sale Committee has decided not to host a Sale at the New Hamburg Fairgrounds in 2021. Instead, plans are being made for two online auctions, the first on Friday, May 29th: tentatively for vintage quilts and items normally sold at the Indoors and Outdoors Auctions, and the second, on Saturday, May 30th: the regular Quilt Auction. There are also hopes for something in the fall that more people can participate in. Further details will be released as they are available.
