Welcome all who are joining for Louise’s Installation Service today. It is a time of celebration and recognition of her ministry before today and going forward. We are blessed by her willingness to serve God and the Church in this way. Everyone is invited to the Fellowship Hall for a reception and refreshments after the service.

4 – 7 p.m. Sunday S’mores! – Everyone is invited to Ralph & Louise  Gingerich’s home, 2168 Carmel-Koch Road, St. Agatha, to enjoy sitting around the fire and catching up with others. The Care Team will make the s’mores; bring your own hot dogs to roast and snacks to share. Bring lawn chairs & tableware. If it is raining the event is cancelled.

10:00 a.m. Outdoor Worship Service and Potluck at Kenton and Sandi Roth’s, 1272 Waterloo Street New Hamburg. The service will not be livestreamed; rather will be posted to the website later in the day. Please bring your own chair or blanket to sit on, as well as your own dishes and a food item to share! If the weather is bad, we will meet at the church.

Theme: A service of singing and sharing stories of hospitality and connection.

Congregational Life
Sept. 7 (Wed.) Morning & afternoon – All women invited to the church to knot comforters and/or quilt. Bring a bag lunch. Drinks provided.

Sept. 8 (Thurs.) 10:00 a.m. – Women’s Bible study group is meeting at Lynelle Drudge’s backyard for coffee and discussion on fall study. All women are invited. We are planning to have a hybrid study with in-person and Zoom. For more information talk to Lynelle, Joy Wagler or Darlene Gingerich.

Starting September 11th we will be resuming in-person Christian Education (Sunday School) for all ages, 11:15-12p.m.

  • Children’s Sunday School (Age 2 – Gr. 4) meeting in the basement
  • Jr. Youth (Gr. 5-8) meeting in the *new* Jr Youth room (basement)
  • MYF (Gr. 9-12+) meeting in the youth room (basement)
  • Adult Ed. meeting in the Fellowship Hall (or the Sanctuary)
  • Coffee Time for those who are longing for connection and conversation, meeting in small side of the Fellowship Hall.

We are excited to experiment with an intergenerational Sunday School on the last Sunday of the month to creatively explore Bible Stories together with all ages, and build multigenerational relationships. Save the Date: Sept. 25th, the Creation Story and a BBQ!

Community Events
Aug. 30 (Tues.) 7:00 p.m. Outdoor service at Waterloo North Mennonite Church to mark overdose awareness day (August 31). This will be a time of lament for the many lives lost to toxic drugs in our community. There will be 158 empty chairs on display to remember those who died in 2021.

Sept. 14 – Nov. 23 (Wed.) 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Interfaith Counselling Centre (ICC) will be offering a support group for women who have experienced emotional or physical abuse within their intimate relationship. For more information and/or to register contact ICC at 519-662-3092.

Sept. 19 (Mon.) Hidden Acres Mennonite Camp, Fall Seniors’ Retreat “Seeing the Land and History Through an Indigenous Lens”. For more information or to register see brochure by the mailboxes or go to the Hidden Acres website at

Opportunity for volunteers to serve coffee for Sunday morning coffee time from the kitchen servery. Will begin in September. If interested, contact the Hospitality Committee — Norma Iutzi or Carol Roth  — or sign up on the sheet on the table by the mailboxes.

Our Indigenous neighbours are still appreciating food at the Land Back site in Caledonia. Our next meal will be delivered Sept 2/22. Let me know in person or at if you are interested in contributing.
