April Special Offering: Help a team of 18 youth and adults with travel costs to Glace Bay, NS, July 9-15 to help Mennonite Disaster Service restore homes damaged by the hurricane in September.  Give to Steinmann Mennonite Church, designated “MDS Travel Fund.”

Intergenerational Sunday School at 11:15 a.m.  All ages are invited to gather in the fellowship hall for a Bible story and singing.

9:45 a.m.  Livestream and in-person worship in the sanctuary.

Music Sunday:  a service including much singing, some scriptures and a few short reflections.   SMC households whose last names begin with “B” and “C” have planned this service.

May 3 (Wed.) Morning & afternoon – All women invited to the church to knot comforters and/or quilt. Bring a bag lunch. Drinks provided.

August 11 – 13 Church Family Camping at Hidden Acres. Mark your calendar and plan to attend.  More details to come.

Flowers for worship:  During the months of June, July, and August 2023, we invite your participation in worship by providing floral arrangements for the communion table.  These flowers can come from your own flower beds or they can be purchased.  Plan to add your name to a date on the sign up sheet by the church mailboxes.  ~Worship Team

May 12 (Fri.) 7-10 p.m. Bigger and Better.  Starting with a penny which team can trade up to the biggest and the best?  Meet at the church 7 pm

Jr. Youth (Grades 5-8)
May 3 (Wed.) 6-8 p.m. Homemade Pizza and Movie Night.  Meet at the church.

Small Groups
May 9  (Tues.) 10 a.m. The Adult Bible Study led by Wes Leis will meet in the fireplace room at the church. Studying “The Uniqueness of Jesus”. Everyone is welcome.

May 11 (Thurs.) 10-11:30 a.m. – Women’s Bible study will be meeting in person and on Zoom.  For “sharing life stories” and a prayer time.   Questions – talk to Lynelle Drudge, Joy Wagler or Darlene Gingerich.

Pastor Steve is taking vacation time May 3-9.

Pastor Sara will be on Sabbatical May 1st  – July 29th.  Please note that during this time of rest and study, Sara will not be responding to church related, phone calls, or texts until her return in August.

The Property Committee is selling the church’s Cub Cadet riding mower, 22hp.  42-in zero turn with steering wheel. Good condition, 420 hours. Runs well. Used for Church cemetery and property, 8 years old. Contact Glen Gingerich 226-972-9580.

Congratulations to Rose Wagler who is celebrating her  81st birthday on Saturday, May 6.

Cathy Knipfel has moved to the Chartwell Westmount Retirement Home for rehab.
